APTU Governing Board
APTU draws its faculty from the distinguished scholars and practitioners teaching at our various member institutions. Our leadership, including board and senate members, represents the high caliber of academic guidance provided through the Union. Key academic figures include:

Dr. Po Ho Huang – Chair
Dr. Huang is the Director of the Academy for Contextual Theologies in Taiwan, Chairperson of the Asian Forum for Theological Movements, and an Adjunct Professor at Claremont School of Theology, USA. He is the former President of Tainan Theological College and Seminary and Vice President of Chang Jung Christian University in Tainan, Taiwan.

Rev. Francisco (Frank) J. Hernando, Ed.D. Treasurer
Dr. Hernando serves as the President of Union Theological Seminary in the Philippines and is a board member of the Graduate Theological Union of the Philippines (GTUP). He provides leadership in theological education, institutional development, and ecumenical collaboration across the region.

Dr. Izak Y.M. Lattu – Vice Chair
Izak Y. M. Lattu is a Professor of Theology and Sociology of Religion at Satya Wacana Christian University. He earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate Theological Union and UC Berkeley. His recent works include Rethinking Interreligious Dialogue (Brill, 2023) and contributions to volumes published by Baylor University Press (2024) and BPK Gunung Mulia (2025).

Dr. Lahpai Sengsan – Member, Myanmar
Dr. Sengsan holds a PhD in Biblical Studies and is a Professor at Kachin Theological College and Seminary, where she also serves as Dean of the Institute of Myanmar Graduate Studies. She is a member of the APTU Board and Senate.

Dr. John Selvamani – Member, Taiwan
Dr. Selvamani is an associate professor at Fu Jen Catholic University’s School of Medicine and serves as the director of the John Paul II Institute for Research into Dialogue for Peace. He holds a doctorate in molecular biology alongside degrees in philosophy and theology.

Dr. Upolu Lumā Vaai – Member, Pacific
Dr. Vaai is a distinguished Professor of Theology and Ethics at Pasifika Communities University (formerly Pacific Theological College) in Suva, Fiji Islands. He is widely recognized for his leadership in theological education across the Pacific region, contributing extensively to conversations on indigenous theology, ethics, and community development.

Dr. Wati Longchar – Ex. Secretary, FTEAP
Dr. Longchar is the Executive Secretary for the Foundation for Theological Education in Asia and the Pacific (FTEAP). He is a former professor at Eastern Theological College, Jorhat, India, and Yu-shan Theological College and Seminary in Taiwan.

M. P. Joseph – Dean/Secretary
Joseph has served as a Professor at Chang Jung Christian University in Tainan, Taiwan, and the United Theological College in Bangalore, India. He was also a Lecturer at the Divinity School, University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
